Game Fest 3 @ MMU 11-12 June2011

We Joined the 3DsMax competition at MMU. we've just back frm the result announcement today :)
the 2 groups frm LUCT , the other 2 team r frm MMU and TheOne

There was suppose to be another group frm LUCT joining in as well, they r my seniors, but they didnt appear for the competition thou, they have superb skills as well, doubt we can actually win the first prize if they joined XD



The comps we use during the competition~

Our final so called finish character.. was fuunny.. especially the female character :x.
The requirement was 2 humanoid, 1 male and 1 female character

Take note we only have 1 day to finish 2 character, with 3 ppl in a team. It starts frm 10am to 6pm, althou we dragged it to 6.30pm XD



me im focusing mostly on the Mechanical robot there , Kye li done the texture thou,
about the female character: why it turns out so *cacat* / deceased

1: Having problem modeling frm the start..
2: only start to unwrap at 5.30pm.. :x
3: I forgot the skit part when im arranging the UVs
4: only takes about 10minutes for Texturing
5: Hair also added at last second.. and it still looks like she's having hair fall problem XD

The sword texture was pretty last minute too XD
In the end i tried baking shadows into them, at least they look better specially the robot but then arent too much of shadows as there r problems for the unwraps or may b other problem..:x

we have 8 hours, but already took 70% of the time for modelling..:x
Guess times plays a major role here.
In the industry, the texturing process should take about 75% of time instead. as told by Mr Ivan Smith frm Codemaster aka our Judge XD



For this mecha model, imma gonna polish it up frm modeling to texture n rigging again when i have time

We dont wat we could at this 8 hours time.. lol

Rex just posted up the wire framed version and it doesnt look tat bad on the girl anymore XD,, n u can see the details better on the sword too



We've had fun today n yesterday, the competition felt like a fantasy,, and we have to go back to the reality world again after this~ the assignment student life,.. after that: working life... XD
